A prodigious composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist, Elijah Ray is known for his pioneering heart and transformational music that crosses a wide scope of genres...from funky, danceable tunes and soul-moving ballads, to sound healing and emotionally evocative soundtracks. His shining presence, gritty soul, and message of love invite the listener into an experience of what it is to be an awakening human. His spiritual messages of authenticity and the power of community have transformed audiences internationally, and many are calling his music the "soundtrack of the awakening." Both mystical and raw, Elijah’s charisma and musical prowess draws his audience into life’s nectar--spiritual, sexy, sweaty, gritty, and ecstatic. Elijah has single handedly crafted a full band sound on most of his "Band of Light" albums, playing most of the instruments and arranging many of the tracks himself. He has also mastered the art of solo touring--a troubadour with his guitar, vocal repertoire of percussion, horns, and bass, and a loop pedal, crafting everything from hip-hop to pop to soul.

In a world where everything is arranged, ordered and pre-packaged Wild Marmalade deliver a true, spontaneous, unique and completely improvised didgeridoo fuelled dance journey. Pioneers of the didgeridoo and drum concept that is now a global movement, these Byron Shire locals take it to the next level for the Byron Spirit Festival 2016. This is the full yin and yang, black and white, outside and inside session. From the Wild Marmalade energetic dance set the evening will seamlessly dive into the depths of the Dream Drone Zone to give integration and closure from the day’s proceedings. For the first time the band will be joined by South Indian Percussion specialist Tunji Beier (DVA, Cave in the Sky). Tunji is a master of textures, tones, speed and fluidity. He is an internationally acclaimed touring musician who resides on the Sunshine coast and will be coming down especially for this one-off moment together. Paul George, perhaps better known as ‘Black Rabbit George’ or as the guitarist of Tijuana Cartel, will be alongside the core duo of Matthew Goodwin and Si Mullumby for this Saturday’s event ~ Awakening Ancesetral Seeds.

From a musical journey with no beginning and no end comes the prophetic poetry of Murray Kyle, an established troubadour with over 15 years of performing straight from the heart to endearing audiences around the globe.The powerfully tender performances of this esteemed songwriter have established him in the Australian roots music scene and beyond, as a highly respected musician sowing his seeds of inspiration into this world.Murray’s fifth studio album, released in July 2015, is entitled Arrow To The Sun.Written, recorded and produced in the creative epicenter of Northern NSW, this album brings a mystical devotional sound, with chanting voices and positive roots vibes.
Welcome to the Dream Drone Zone
The Dream Drone Zone concludes the Saturday night with a powerful integration session. Participants are invited to lay on the floor and receive the long wavelengths of the didgeridoo tones throughout their bodies. The Dream Drone® is a style of playing didgeridoo that encourages inner awareness and provides the time, space and place to integrate all the levels of what it is do be human into a singular connected sense of wholeness. This is a 30 minute on the floor session.
This event uses state-of -the–art Jon Worsley Hemp Didgeridoos, made right here in Mullumbimby. Unique cellulose fibre technology taking sound to new heights.
