Drops of Nectar

Relax, unwind and replenish your vital energy as we explore a meditative yoga sequence, created for deep relaxation and healing.  Beginning with soothing Chandra Namaskar (moon salutes), this practice will unwind the accumulation of stress often held in the body, and will create the space to clear tension and opportunities for presence

You’ll pay special attention to the quality of each movement, and move slowly as though you are moving through water.  This healing practice will invoke the flow of energetic nectar down the spine, permeating the entire body with blissful energy.  One of the greatest pleasures of yoga is Shavasana, the deep relaxation traditionally offered at the end of the class. Coupled with a guided Yoga Nidra, enjoy this practice as a way to be more receptive to your innate inner wisdom.  All levels.

The Body Flow
"As the bio-mechanics of our Body are generally universal, there are yoga class cues that suit most people - yet our unique life experiences mean that our individual bodies often need different emphasis in order to allow the energy (Prana) flow and the pose to be felt the way it was originally intended.
Geoff creates an environment where you are guided into the pose and let the Prana flow in a way that allows you to FEEL... Once the Body understands and FEELS the effective flow of Prana it celebrates and enjoys the exploration of the range of movement. This is the Flow.
The effectiveness of this technique was refined in his Byron Bay studio Ananta YOGA and has since been taken around Asia and Europe. Geoff conducts short courses in this method available to all practitioners and teachers. Contact yoga@ananta.com.au for more details.

Yoga Peace

13:00 AEST

Yin Yoga with Kaya Slater Chisholm and Live Music
Yin yoga takes place at a slow pace, with postures and asanas often lasting for five minutes or longer. We move into the poses without muscle contraction and we surrender into the poses rather than activating our bodies. Yin Yoga is a highly meditative form of yoga, with many physical and mental benefits. By placing moderate stress on the connective tissues, Yin yoga aims to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. The poses are also designed to encourage the flow of qi, a subtle energy that runs through the body’s meridian pathways. This improves the health of your organs, boosts immunity, and promotes inner peace and emotional wellbeing. The benefits of Yin Yoga alone are unbelievably powerful, so when we weave in powerful ancient healing mantra and the unique and powerful healing sounds of the hang, a beautiful instrument constructed from two half-shells of deep drawn, nitrided steel sheet glued together at the rim leaving the inside hollow and creating a distinct UFO shape, the magic really begins. The hypnotic sounding Hang perfectly accompanies the depth of ancient mantra and Yin Yoga- a fusion to be experienced.

 Haitch
Haitch is a South East Queensland musician and composer. Looking to nature for inspiration and world cultures for instruments, his uniqueness lies in the moving fusion created with both uncommon and classical instruments. Haitch started trumpet at a young age, closely followed by piano, leading into over a decade collecting world instruments that he composes and performs with today. Including Native American flutes, Yidaki (didgeridoo), slide Didge, Taishogoto, Baja, Mellophone, Tibetan singing bowls, Duclar, Overtone flutes, hand percussion, vocals and synthesizers.

Kaya Slater-Chisholm
Kaya is a senior Yoga teacher and Mentor, and devoted practitioner of mantra in Sanskrit, Hindi and Gurmuki. She is based in Brisbane and runs a yoga Studio called Yoga Bones. Her passion is to bring bhakti yoga and devotion in to all that she does and brings a strong knowledge of eastern Traditions Tantra and Daoism into her teachings.
Kaya uses mantra, crystal bowls, and sacred sound in all aspects of her work/service. She believes that working with others to help them find their inner peace depends on various elements.

Free Like Me

Free Like Me bring something fresh and compelling to the Australian music scene and it hasn't taken long for them to create a big buzz. They were awarded best local talent at Splendour in The Grass 2014. They won a place in Blues Over Byron competition to play at The Byron Bay Blues Festival 2014 competing against over 60 bands, and In June 2015 they were played on 4 stages at the world renowned Glastonbury Festival in the Uk.

The band’s founders are British born Lucy Gallant and Venezuelan Daniel Urbina. Their heritage is as eclectic as their music – Lucy being part Burmese, Russian, Irish and Australian whilst the Venezuelan Daniel mixes it up with some Native American ancestry. Perhaps this mash up of cultural backgrounds is what inspires Free Like Me’s blend of world music which is further enhanced by Gallant’s thought provoking lyrics; lyrics that can be uplifting whilst also edging towards something darker - and with titles like Murder and Fire Girl amongst the self titled Free Like Me or Lets go to the Beach you can expect the unexpected! The songs are all original works and Gallant and Urbina are multi talented song writers, musicians (they play multiple instruments) and they produce much of their own music, although along the way have had some help from some pretty great and respected producers!

Gallant’s voice has great dynamic range, smoothly jumping from lows to highs, from delicate to fierce. She is also a talented drummer and plays intricate, high energy rhythms on her Djembe and Cajun whilst singing. Urbina, also a vocalist, is an incredible rhythm and lead guitar player and brings not only a bit of Rock into the mix but has the charisma that really gets a crowd going.

Free Like Me are a band with a mission – they want to bring people together through music that calls for people to be true to themselves, to be free and to be happy. They also just love to play music and that is clear every time you hear them play and every time you find yourself singing one of their songs long after you heard them perform it live!

Opening your heart through Tantra
"Men and women are often looking for love and sex on the outside, but what if you came home to yourself more deeply? Opening to the possibility that the love and sex you have been looking for lives inside of your body.

Martina will guide you to use Tantric practices to open the heart, to come into deeper inner connection. In a world that is often busy and overly full, we need to consciously cultivate space for stillness, space where we can hear both the murmurings and the roar of our hearts.

You will experience practices that enhance your ability to listen to your heart, to come into deeper union with your feeling self, to eliminate the conflict that happens when you override your feelings and desires. The workshop will include individual and partnered activities for opening the heart.

'HO'OPONOPONO Forgiving, Forgetting & Remembering '
"
Ho'oponopono
A Traditonal Way of Making Things Right

We forgave and were forgiven, thrashing out every grudge, peeve or sentiment among us. In this way, we became a very closely bound family unit.
Pukui

Literal translation:
Ho'o- to do or to make something happen.
Pono- Right or Rightiousness
Ponopono- to repeat a word in Hawaiian gives the root word a deeper significance.
In this instance, very right.
Thus the word Ho'oponopono literally means 'to make very right'.

The Bowl of Light a Traditonal Story
When we are born into this realm of existence, we are born with a perfect bowl of light. This light allows us to do all things in this universe. Fly with the birds, swim with the fish, speak to the wind and the trees. As we grow and experience life we have a tendency as human beings of picking stones 'pohaku'. Every time we pick up a stone and place into our bowl our light will dim, because light and stone cannot hold the same space. When we come to a place that there are many stones in our bowl, our light will no longer shines, and we are selfs, become stone. It is also foretold, at this time, that if we should tire of carrying these stones in our bowl, we must turn 'huli' our bowl upside down and dump the stones out. This allows our light to shine brightly once again.

This Traditonal story captures the essence of Ho'oponopono. As a process, practitioners of Ho'oponopono understand that for true healing to take place, all of the stones 'limiting constructs' of our experiences must be removed. Ho'oponopono includes the use of prayer, discussion, confession, repentance, mutual restitution and forgiveness.(1986 revised Hawaiian Dictionary)

From a traditional perspective a movement through forgiving, forgetting and remembering was observed through Ho'oponopono. It is understood that in order to truly forgive one must also forget so we are able to remember a state of health and well being prior to the inhibiting or conflicting experience.

Ho'oponopono provides people with a means of returning to whole-ness. An alignment also a state of 'rightness' with ones self, family, society, a higher power(s), and therefore our universe. "

Sound Shower
Come bathe in pure sounds that will take you on a deeply transformational journey The Soundshower combines chimes, tibetan bowls, flutes and vocal harmonics. During a session you will be invited to lie down and immerse in vibrations created by these special instruments. Throughout the “Shower” different instruments are carried around the room and sometimes placed physically on the body. Flutes and voice are used to create a magical musical journey and overtones charge the brain and energize the body. The aluminum chimes which are at the centre of the Soundshower are tuned to the earth year tone. This tone is the sound created by the earth’s movement around the Sun. The 32nd octave of this movement is C# at 136.1 hertz. This Tone is intimately tied with the year’s cycles and season changes .In India’s ancient tradition this note is considered as the universal sound (Aum) and is the preferred note to tune their instruments and meditate to. Music played by instruments tuned to the earth year frequency naturally slows down brainwave activity and heart rate and induces a deep meditative state. Being exposed to these healing frequencies enhances a physical, mental and emotional calibration to the human body and energy field . Pure frequencies shift and release stagnant energy and tension accumulated in the body .The Soundshower re-aligns and harmonizes body/mind and is a very relaxing and refreshing experience. It releases stress and anxiety increasing focus clarity and insight.

Slow is the New Strong

In a world of fast-paced everything, even our yoga practice can end up reflecting our addiction to busyness, and the fact that we’re often stuck in fast-forward:  doing too much, racing through tasks just to tick them off the to-do list, and forgetting to enjoy the journey

This yoga practice is like putting on the mental brakes and shifting into a slower gear, so that we can savour each and every moment from beginning to end.  Practicing “slow” yoga is not just about the pace with which we move – it’s a question of purpose. It takes the emphasis off “doing” and puts it more on “being”.  We’ll focus less on the poses and more on the in between moments, and in that space, cultivate strength, compassion and inner balance.   You’ll experience the ability to be dynamic, yet grounded; present and alert, yet filled with ease and lightness.   All levels welcome, but some yoga experience recommended.

Simple Bliss - A Journey Through the Breath (3 Hr Class 1-4pm)
Connect with the exquisite intricacy of your body in this beautifully guided and informative journey into sensation and embodiment, as you breathe and move your way to greater awareness.

Embrace the opportunity to dive deeply into your own experience of your body, learning more about yourself and how the anatomical structures of breath work together. When this system functions optimally, you not only live well, but ecstatically.

The first part of the workshop breathes you into your breath anatomy. From this foundation, the second half flows into an ecstatic breath ritual where we experience the depth of connection of human beings engaging in intentional practice in rhythm with each other.

Celtic Mysticism and Spirituality
Celtic Mysticism and Spirituality – Indigenous Bloodline of Ancient Britain
THE PROGRAM

We begin by acknowledging the Arakwal People of the Bunjalung Nation and their right to sovereignty and we thank them for allowing us a presence in their country.
Ly is joined by local musician, and long-time colleague in the ways of magic, Matt Connolly. Matt brings the music of the people, part of the colours of Celt.
Ly will begin by explaining what it is like to be lost. To not have a family history. To study that of others and to come to settle on one particular branch of the universal tree of life only to discover, decades later, that it is the tap root of her own personal family tree (de Angeles was sold by the Catholic Church for £300 just after her birth and adopted by strangers).
Images of ancient sites will orient you with the power and majesty of your ancestors.
We discuss crop circles being the earth’s voice to which our ancestors listened and built the henges, sídhe mounds and long barrows. Species non-differentiation and walking softly with life.
Mysticism and not religion. Non-anthropomorphic understanding of spirit of place (genus loci) and being one’s ancestors.
You will voyage Imramma (a guided visualization). Not peaceful, but honest. De Angeles will pull you into the heart of Priteni, allow you to meet, invite you to feel the violation, the battles, know from whom you are descended. Who you are still.
You will be returned to the circle of the present day by the pounding of hooves across the moors of time, by the power of the bodhràn. You will be provided with the instruments to decorate yourselves with whatever blue ink designs represent the experience for you. This is up to each person and is not a requirement. The ink is not permanent. If this is not your culture we invite you to experience the understanding.
The knowledge of the protection of stone guardians will be explained, a demonstration given so you can create one or more, inviting spirits of the land to reside with you at your home.
The lore of asking agreement of species and life, of freely given, the cycles and seasons of the blue people of the necessity of clan and family, not always of blood.
Discuss genealogy and DNA testing if we have time.

The Yerba Mate Ritual
"A sharing experience
More than a drink, yerba mate is an ancient ceremony. Indigenous legend tells that the moon goddess bestowed this herb on the human race as a means to unite all tribes. Today it has become an important part of everyday life in South America. Mate is the traditional way to start a meeting and a welcome pause during hard work. It has provided extra strength and clarity to people for centuries.
Sharing in the mate round is an exercise in attention and a meditation on being present in the moment.
Join us to share in the ritual and uplift your spirit.

Saturday Night Concert - Awakening Ancestral Seeds

Eljah Ray

A prodigious composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist, Elijah Ray is known for his pioneering heart and transformational music that crosses a wide scope of genres...from funky, danceable tunes and soul-moving ballads, to sound healing and emotionally evocative soundtracks. His shining presence, gritty soul, and message of love invite the listener into an experience of what it is to be an awakening human. His spiritual messages of authenticity and the power of community have transformed audiences internationally, and many are calling his music the "soundtrack of the awakening." Both mystical and raw, Elijah’s charisma and musical prowess draws his audience into life’s nectar--spiritual, sexy, sweaty, gritty, and ecstatic. Elijah has single handedly crafted a full band sound on most of his "Band of Light" albums, playing most of the instruments and arranging many of the tracks himself. He has also mastered the art of solo touring--a troubadour with his guitar, vocal repertoire of percussion, horns, and bass, and a loop pedal, crafting everything from hip-hop to pop to soul.

In a world where everything is arranged, ordered and pre-packaged Wild Marmalade deliver a true, spontaneous, unique and completely improvised didgeridoo fuelled dance journey. Come and Let yourself go.

For the first time the band will be joined by South Indian Percussion specialist Tunji Beier (DVA, Cave in the Sky). Tunji is a master of textures, tones, speed and fluidity. He is an internationally acclaimed touring musician who resides on the Sunshine coast and will be coming down especially for this one-off moment together. Paul George, perhaps better known as ‘Black Rabbit George’ or as the guitarist of Tijuana Cartel, will be alongside the core duo of Matthew Goodwin and Si Mullumby for this Saturday’s event ~ Awakening Ancesetral Seeds.

Flower Baths ~ Vibrational Cleansing for Mind Body Spirit
"Flower Baths are an ancient worldwide healing practice. They are used to cleanse the energetic
body through the properties of the flowers, plants and crystals that are infused in the water. Floral baths are often used in conjunction with ceremony to help open, cleanse and integrate on a vibrational level.

Jewelli apprenticed with grandmother curanderas (healers) at The Temple of the Way of Light in Peru and will pass on their flower bath wisdom in her presentation, including a healing flower bath for up to 70 people to experience. May this presentation and experiential workshop provide a basis for deeper knowledge and benefits of this ancient worldwide modality."

Opening your Sexuality
"Sexuality is such a big topic, and it is a world where people often get lost and confused. Attempting to have their partner be responsible for their desire or lack of desire, when desire arises from within.

Each man and woman can discover the powerhouse of sexual energy that lives inside of them. Sexuality is the pulsating, radiating, vibrant force of life energy that awakens from within - it is your life force energy. Another person may be the catalyst, however, cultivating and maintaining that energy is a possibility available to every individual.

Be guided with tantric practices that support you to feel more connected to yourself and your body. Through opening your sexuality, you will experience an enhanced sense of wellbeing, increased aliveness everyday and deeper inner union, and a deepening sense of your own inner masculine and inner feminine.

Martina will provide practices that you can easily replicate at home, solo or with a partner. During the workshop you will be fully clothed and be able to work within your boundaries.

Nila shares a powerful story pertaining to the nature of the theme of the gathering . It is called "the Emergence of the Four Races and the Return of Pahana" and is based on the Hopi Oral tradition of the history of humans emergence from the previous World.
In the spirit of a storyteller she weaves a magic tale with a strong moral ethic and a mythic prophecy of which we are all involved, using wordsmith, song and medicine drum to take  you on a brief and magical journey.
"My intention with 'The Emergence of the Four Races and the Return of Pahana' is to share a multi sensory story telling, enhanced with traditional song , native drum and drone flute, a bardic experience that evokes a mythic sense of journey and resolution. The tale is a collage of Native American stories about the creation of the Earth, the saga of humans transcendence through the four worlds to this world, the nature of prophecy of the four races according to those oral traditions and what this may mean for us in the coming times" explains Nila

Waking up to Wellness
This experiential workshop will explore practical ways to embody wellness in everyday life and will introduce the idea of waves of consciousness and how the 5 rhythms wave as described by Gabrielle Roth, consisting of flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness, can be used as a metaphor to illustrate the evolution of consciousness and the different stages of human evolution; as well as the stages of human conception, birth, development and connection. The 5 rhythms not only map out evolution, they also provide a guide to surfing the consciousness tsunami that is upon us. Thus, while people may have different trajectories –flowing with the tide, paddling out or in, dropping in, wiping out, carving the face or riding the tube - we are all participating in the birth of a new consciousness that is propelling us on a cosmic trajectory into the unknown.

The Mind Flow
"As with Geoff's first workshop ""The Body Flow"" - The Mind Flow uses fine tuned methods to focus the intention of the practice in order to create specific outcomes.
In this case - The Mind.
The key to the Mind Flow is utilising the Body in a way that gives the Mind a single focal point.
This can alter during the practice from Pranayama (breath work), to Asana (poses), to Meditative techniques... this is where the Mind Flow comes into its own.
Each practice differs dependent upon the environment and the intention set prior to the practice; essentially a Yin or Yang practice, Restorative or anything in between can be used to focus the Mind using the same techniques in different levels of action. It may use re-introduce a technique should the Mind wander or the Prana levels become ""scattered"".
The effectiveness of this technique was refined in his Byron Bay studio Ananta YOGA and has since been taken around Asia and Europe. Geoff conducts short courses in this method available to all practitioners and teachers. Contact yoga@ananta.com.au for more details.

Yoga Trance Dance
Yoga Trance Dance (cultivated by Shiva Rea) is an exploration of the eternal flow of natural movement through yoga. Beginning with sahaja prana yoga or the experience of prana initiating yogasanas, Yoga Trance Dance flows into an exploration of free-form, breath driven movement to liberate one’s creative life-force and cultivate embodied freedom. Yoga Trance Dance is a meeting of two great rivers, yoga and dance, which come from and are united at the source. That infinite creative source is the One, uniting us all. Yoga and dance are two of the oldest paths back home. With the use of Kriyas, partner work and some guided movement this offering is dedicated to movement as medicine and liberating your movement potential off the mat where all asanas / yoga poses dissolve and converge into one. Celtic Mysticism and Spirituality
ATTENDANCE AT LY DE ANGELES SATURDAY WORKSHOP IS A PRE-REQUISITE FOR THIS WORKSHOP
